Letter from the Management

What we stand for

We believe in creativity and innovation. In highly qualified and motivated staff. And in a close collaboration with our customers.

We believe that everywhere is room for improvement and that ICT solutions are key for optimization and efficiency. That simplicity makes the difference - in terms of software usability, service accessibility and solution architecture.

We believe that Swiss premium products and services must be marketed at reasonable prices - through leveraging of synergies and achieving economies of scale.

And we believe in transparency, when communicating with our work colleagues and - even more important - with our customers. We don't make empty promises, instead our communications are frank and straight forward - also if we don't see a fit between your requirements and our solutions.

And we implement what we believe in. This is what we stand for. Give us a try - you won't be disappointed.

Peter Fäh

Peter Faeh

Partner & Co-Founder

Since the very beginnings of MESPAS in September 2004, Peter has been at the helm of this undertaking. He has been responsible for both strategic growth and sales. Together with his team, Peter has transformed MESPAS from a completely unknown company into an enterprise with a worldwide reputation for reliable software solutions in the industry.

Peter was born and bred in Zürich, Switzerland. To test new waters, he went to live in Palo Alto, California, for two years. Later he decided to study Mechanical Engineering at Rapperswil University of Applied Sciences in Switzerland. Following his studies, Peter worked at New Sulzer Diesel/Wartsila assuming important roles ranging from commissioning engineer to project and sales manager.

In his free time, Peter enjoys travelling with his family, undertaking all kinds of outdoor activities, such as skiing, mountain biking and windsurfing. Moreover, being an enthusiastic sportsman, he is always up for a soccer game with friends.

Markus Spörri

Markus Spoerri

Partner

As a result of MESPAS’ decision of chartering hitherto unknown territory, Markus was taken aboard of MESPAS at the beginning of 2014. Having been in charge of reshaping the software development department, he’s now focusing on the strategic alignment of the company, our services and products.

Markus is in possession of a Master’s Degree in Business Economics and Information Science, which he obtained from the University of Zürich. He kick-started his professional career as a software engineer, which was then followed by a variety of leadership roles. Before getting on board with MESPAS, Markus headed IBM’s Banking Solution Centre in Zürich, which is where he was responsible for various Software Products and associated tasks ranging from Strategic Development to Marketing & Sales of Software Solutions to Consulting Services in Switzerland and Austria.

In his spare time, Markus tries to spend as much time with his family as possible. Trying to be a good sportsman, he can’t wait for the day when his now three-year-old son proves a real sporting challenge, balancing out the challenges he has to tackle for MESPAS.

Daniel Gsponer

Daniel Gsponer

Head of Product Management and Co-Founder

Since the early days of MESPAS in September 2004, Daniel has not only been responsible for the development of MESPAS Solutions as Product Manager, but he has also acted as an indispensable intermediary between software engineers and our customers.

Daniel was born in the mountainous canton of Wallis, Switzerland. Wallis is also the place where he did his apprenticeship as a mechanic and where he later graduated from Sion University of Applied Sciences as a Mechanical Engineer. After his studies, Daniel worked at New Sulzer Diesel/Wartsila as a commissioning engineer tackling various tasks ranging from doing project management to heading the Material Technology department. On top of that, he was presented with the unique opportunity of working in China as a commissioner of Diesel power plants.

In his free time, Daniel enjoys outdoor activities like riding his motorbike, hiking and gardening, which is not surprising given his roots in Wallis. Being an engineer to the core and constantly tinkering around with anything he can get his hands on, he came up with a method of harvesting energy from garden compost...

Simon Regenscheit

Simon Regenscheit

Head of Software Engineering

A relatively new member of the MESPAS crew is Simon Regenscheit. Since he got on board with MESPAS as the Head of Software Engineering in the middle of 2014, he has been an indispensable addition to the team. Simon has been responsible not only for the further development of our software products, but also for coming up with new value propositions.

Simon learned the ropes as a student of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Zürich (ETH). Ever since his graduation in 2000, he has been putting into practice his formal education in the field of software development. Before joining ranks with MESPAS, Simon was in charge of leading a software engineering team in one of the largest IT companies in the world for several years.

Apart from work, Simon is a very gregarious, fun-loving person. He particularly likes playing volleyball in a team and cards with his friends. However, his favorite pastime is spending quality time with his family. This could be attributed to his calm nature, which often helps restore peace and calm in heated discussions of our dynamic team.

Simon Kunz

Simon Kunz

Head Architect

Simon joined MESPAS in June 2014 as Head Architect. In this role, he bears the responsibility of implementing MESPAS’ product strategy. Hence, Simon ensures that newly developed software is not only sensibly structured, but also based on sound technologies, which is of paramount importance for MESPAS since it guarantees both maintainability and the sustainability of investments. Additionally, Simon is the leading head of MESPAS’ initiatives in analytics and research topics.

Simon grew up near Zürich, which is also where he received his BSc in Computer Engineering. Later he decided to do a Master’s Degree in Statistics at the Technical University of Zürich (ETH). Already during his studies, Simon started to work as a software developer and later became software architect at IBM.

In his leisure time, Simon enjoys spending quality time with his family, experimenting with physical computing and the Internet of Things. Whenever Simon finds a free minute, he tries to find statistical meaning in large datasets (which is just another reason for having him on board at MESPAS).

Pavel Siman

Pavel Siman

Head of Operations

Pavel has joined MESPAS in 2014 originally as Senior Software Engineer. Shortly after, he was appointed new head of operations, in the course of tightening the collaboration between our software development teams and the MESPAS operations crew. Thanks to his unbeaten commitment and the dedication of his team, MESPAS' products are accessible twenty-four-seven not only in superb quality, but also meeting Swiss data security requirements and the application performance expectations of our demanding customer community.

Pavel grew up in Z├╝rich where he also got his degree in Computer Engineering from the University of applied sciences FHNW. For more than a decade, he was working in the financial services area, in particular for one of the top consultancy companies, where he - among other responsibilities - was the lead engineer behind a security critical banking application, governing online financial transactions.

In his free time Pavel is discovering the underwater world as a scuba-diver with his friends and explores the nature while taking pictures with his camera.

Dominik Zumbühl

Dominik Zumbuehl

Head of Project Management

Sharing the top rung of the ladder in terms of experience is without doubt Dominik. Hence it comes to no surprise that he is responsible for Project Management and Support. Running a string of international project managers and support experts, Dominik helped considerably in turning MESPAS into a success story. Our strong customer relationship can to a large part be attributed to Dominik’s good leadership skills and his unrelenting attention to customers’ satisfaction.

Dominik grew up in Greater Zürich and is in possession of a Master’s Degree in Environmental Sciences, which he obtained from Zürich’s Technical University (ETH). On top of his formal education, Dominik has gained invaluable experiences in the shipping and electronics industry.

Apart from work, Dominik is not only a good father to his three children, he is also a soccer aficionado and a marathon runner. Beside his sporting merits, Dominik is a strong supporter of renewable energy projects. This makes him a perfect fit for MESPAS, which is continuously stepping up the energy efficiency ladder.

Jakub Wach

Jakub Wach

Manager of Polish Subsidiary

Jakub joined MESPAS in August 2014 as head of our Polish branch in Krakow. His responsibilities range from running Krakow's office, to technical management of his team, to co-architecturing MESPAS web solutions. Whenever possible, Jakub loves to lend a helping hand to software development and contribute to the code base.

Jakub obtained his Master's Degree in Computer Science from the Krakow University of Science and Technology. Already during his studies, he was involved in various research projects in Distributed Systems, which resulted in a staggering eight scientific papers. Before getting on board with MESPAS, Jakub already held leadership positions in both software architecture and technology with Sabre Holdings and Ocado Technology respectively.

Since all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, Jakub is an avid sportsman engaged in cycling, skiing and even rock climbing. But being a computer scientist at heart, his true devotion lies in Bioinformatics.
